Feeling better, but still horribly congested. Finished my antibiotic and will continue with the regime of decongestants etc and I just hope that the congestion doesn't morph into something else.

For work )

I've been sick now for 8 days. The first 4 were the most awful things, I had a spiking fever, aches throughout my shoulders, back and hips. The congestion started on day 3 and got worse to the point I could not breath, hence not being able to sleep either. Went to the doctor on Day 4 and she diagnosed me with sinusitis, which I've had many times, and it never felt like that. I didn't go to work for 4 days. The weekend wasn't much better, while the aches and pains decreased the congestion got worse causing headaches and pain through the left side of my face.

*sigh* I went to work on Monday, I needed to be home again but that was 4 days in a row, I have never ever done that before. So in the ten years I've been with the company they realized I was very sick, which was nice, I didn't have a fear that they didn't believe me. The head is still so congested my ears pop, need to use Afrin at night to breath, even Nyquil to get to sleep. Ugh. This just so sucks.

Good thing about today is that we started watching The Avengers with the kids today. I found myself shushing LM#2, but he had questions or just comments. :)

The friend party for LM#1 went well yesterday. He loved his party and had a great time. The kids all seemed to enjoy themselves, we finally ordered enough pizza and only had a few slices left over. I had 36 cupcakes and came home with over 15 I think. That was after giving 5 to a friend, I gave them as many as I could fit on the paper plate. I need to make 36 more cupcakes for Friday so LM#1 can take them to school and celebrate his birthday again. Then the family party is Saturday and I need to make two cakes, one for each little man. It's a lot of baking. Sheesh.

Last night into today we got more snow, this time it was about 12 inches. Then it turned to sleet, then rain and then nothing. But "the tail" is swinging around and we are scheduled to get 3-6 more between 9pm and 1am. Awesome.

My office closed today, which was nice because I only put in about 4 hours. I had to as I have things to do.

I helped shovel, I was out there for 2 hours. The boys enjoyed themselves, so it's good someone did. I love winter but I'm really over this one.

We watched Almost Human today (from Monday) and according to TiVo it was episode 4, and in it Kennix was having flashbacks. Seriously, Fox sucks, just air the eps in the ordered they were intended. Grrr.

Watching the The Walking Dead )

We've been rewatching Veronica Mars season 3 in preparation for the movie in March, it's fun to see it again.

Game of Thrones returned, woohoo!

Easter was nice, the kids ate chocolate all day, and wow with the sugar rush LM#2 had. Just bonkers. In addition to chocolate there were also Super Hero Squad figures: LM#1 got Thor and Modog and LM#2 got Iron Man and Abonination. We already had the heros but no villans so now we have two Iron Mans and Thors. Watching them find them in the baskets was funny :)

Not so nice, we tried to turn the computer on and it started beeping at us and the only way to get it to stop was to push the power button. Then it made a crunch sound. *sigh* Are you freakin kidding me? We've had this laptop for maybe 18 months. We take it no where, we treat it nice. And I just spent two hours updating my Recs file and did not back up the computer. It's probably been about 9 months since the last backup. :( Been meaning to do it but haven't felt like it. So now I'm taking it to Tech Services to have them look at it, see what is going on. I'm hoping it's something simple that can be fixed, however I'm kind of assuming the hard drive is fried. And if it's fried then I need them to get my stuff off of it. And I have to go laptop shopping... again!

Ugh. It's just, a MAC is so much more expensive and there's so much to learn. But I gotta tell you, if I can get the hubby on board maybe we need to go that way. I had my Gateway for 5 years with no problems (that was a desktop), then I got a Dell and had that for 4 years (also a desktop). Then got an HP - never again 'cause it sucked. Now this is a Dell. I forgot to bring the laptop with me, so I may leave early today, get the laptop and take it over to them for diagnosis. Their hours are 8 to 4:30, which is really inconvenient. At least I have my iPad and my work computer but what a pain in the ass.

Watched a boat load of movies over the weekend:
Movies
- Twilight Pt 2: good to see the end of the series and while I read the books I don't remember the whole "switch" with the battle (this is regarding Alice). I don't remember it happening that way in the book, so either (a) it didn't and they did that for the movie and really, what manipulative bastards or (b) I was skimming i too much and missed it totally. I'm kind of leaning toward "a".

- 21 Jump Street: I swore I would not watch this, then a friend said it was really funny. So I swallowed my dislike of Jonah Hill and gave it a try. Have to admit that I laughed a lot, mainly because it was poking fun of itself and for that I respect it. Still only a B movie though, but dug the cameos of the originally 21 Jump Street members.

- 5-year Engagement: eh, it was alright, kind of funny in places, but kind of predictable as well. I'm a big fan of Jason Segal and I find it curious how much I keep seeing his naked body in movies that he writes. Sadly I'd give this movie a grade of C.

The Walking Dead: This Sorrowful Life )

I'm really excited about the return of Game of Thrones :-) I get that and the finale of The Walking Dead on Sunday, so we already know what we're watching. I feel like I'm missing a show or two I wanted to babble about but I can't remember.

I am finally feeling better. Tuesday, six days later, I felt better. I'm still horribly congested, but at least I feel less like crap. Sadly I pulled the right side of my neck badly and I'm in pain there. I'm just a mess :P The neck pain is better than yesterday, however I can only turn my neck so far to the right. Good thing I already have a massage scheduled for Friday.

... and it's as though I will never be "current" again. I haven't posted much here about TV lately because I'm behind and I am so confused right now what "week" I'm working on that I'm all - screw it.

I saw a poster for Iron Man 3. Facebook just shows me lots of posters. The one of Pepper holding the Iron Man mask with a slice down the front was spooky, but the one of Tony, no helmet but in the suit, with the flying suits in the background and the Malibu house exploding... I just think this movie is going to hurt. For whatever reason I have brought Avengers into my heart, have learned about the characters and comics (slowly) and I love Iron Man, and Tony has been hurt so badly, and this movie just seems like it's destined to ear him apart. And he won't have his friends to help him.

March is a crazy month. We are pretty much booked the whole thing except for my birthday and Easter, and considering it's the same weekend... we are booked. Overbooked I may even admit to. My Mom is having a party this weekend for my Dad's retirement, and I'm making a cake. I found one online that I think I can do: laptop.

I will bake a 9x13 cake for the bottom, then make a 9x13 pan of rice krispie treats. Then I will cover the krispies in chocolate icing and that will be the screen. I think if I make the krispies Saturday and leave them sit out, the on Sunday they will be stiff enough to stand (with the help of sticks) into the bottom of the computer. I will also be making some cupcakes to make sure there is enough cake to go around. Hopefully this is not out of league because Mr KA is busy this weekend. Friday night he is playing cards, Saturday from 3 until ? he is at a work event. So I'm going to get this cake started/done with two kids.

Oooh, it will be fine. I'll just whip out the iPad and phone when needed or pull out a movie. *g* I'm hoping my neighbors are avaiable for the kids to come over on Sunday. That would be perfect as I could put the final touches on the cake. I emailed her on Tuesday but haven't heard. She's not the best emailer and since it's their turn to host the kids it's hard me to call up and go "can the kids come over?" Although I should since I've never said no to her yet.

I will post a picture (hopefully) of the finished product.

Oh the Oscars. I did not watch *ducks* It's hard to get excited about an awards show where I didn't see many of the movies. I will say I saw more this year than previous ones recently, so it seems as though I'm getting my movie groove back. But it's not the same, won't be for years. And it makes me a little sad each year. I did record it and watch some of it, acceptance speeches of people I like, montages that I loved. So because I did it that way I have no real opinion about Seth MacFarland as a host. He has a great singing voice which was a surprise and some peppy dance moves. Did see the Avenger cast do their awkward jokes, it was nice to see them. :)

I bought myself a Zumba game for the Xbox. I've done it twice so far and it's decent, kind of fun. I can do certain kinds of dances better than others. The couch we currently have in the basement must go though cause it messes up the Kinect. I'm going to try and do it again tonight, but exercising at 6:45 is not motivating. It's after I've eaten and it's the only down time of the day, so I don't get to sit with the kids and watch tv and read. I'm just bitter I can't get up at 5am and do it without it totally screwing with the schedule. Really wish there was a better way of getting in shape/losing weight.

And I'm sure I have more to say about tv shows but I can't think of anything at this time.

I'm trying to figure out if it's me or if it's them. *g* I kind of hope it's them 'cause that just means I'm way too picky anymore.

The birthday parties went well. I'm glad it's over though. And tomorrow i have off and I start off the day with a massage. :) I'm very much looking forward to it. Lots of new toys, lots of little pieces...

Steelers are on sadly they are currently losing... I'm beginning to think that this is not their year, but hopefully they will get it together.
