Happy New Year to all, hope it's a good one, or at least an improvement over the last one.

For my in 2015 I just hope I stop being sick. Sadly I have finished round 3 of antibiotics, with a steroid this time, just recently. So for those of us counting, I had meds at the end of October, right before Thanksgiving, and then mid December. The Dr told me that I should see an ENT. Which I already have, we did a scan of my sinuses, the ENT says I have very small passages. Also said I'm a prime candidate for surgery.

That is something I wasn't pleased with, which is how I ended up at the allergist. And for 5 months the allergy shots and routine was working, but then in October I got so sick and I haven't been able to get rid of the congestion. And today I woke up with my throat feeling thick and scratchy and had periodic ear pain throughout the day. I'm being good about the nose sprays and allergy meds and really hope that this just passes. Don't want to go the surgery route, but I also can't continue to be sick like this. I can't take more antibiotics. It's just... round and round we go. Ugh.

Anyone watching The Librarians? This is so much fun. Sure it's one part cheesy but I feel like everyone involved embraces the cheesiness. The cast has some really great chemistry, especially Jake (Christian Kane, so fun to watch him as a character that smiles and isn't so broody) and Cassandra (Lindy Booth), they are my favorites. I even like Ezekiel and Jenkins (John Larroquette is hilarious). The weakness link is Rebecca Romijn, and I want to like her, I do, but ... she's just not good. She brings everything down. Hopefully she will get better, someone involved in the show saw something in her, right?

TNT also is airing the episodes out of order. We think it was so they could air the Christmas themed one near Christmas. But it's messed with the inter dynamics of the team. And (unlike "Almost Human") it's not pissing me off too badly. I think it's because of the tone of the show, I can work through it. This last episode was about fairytales with the awesome line of "someone has weaponized fairy tales." I needed a fun show that can make me smile.

OH! Speaking of that, watch "Galavant" last night, it was awesome! There was singing and sorta dance numbers, and in appropriate lyrics. And singing, and just... awesomeness. Definitely tuning in. And while it's only 4 weeks long, it's probably for the best. It's really 8 episodes at 30 minutes each, but they've decided to air it as a one hour. This isn't for everyone, but I loved it.

Finished this round of antibiotics, still congested. It's bothersome while talking sometimes, and I blow my nose throughout the day, all day. I may call the Doctor tomorrow and leave a message explaining how I'm feeling just to keep her updated. I'm concerned about taking a step backward again. I'm notorious for getting sick at Christmas, I think it's all the working, getting ready, etcetc.

Christmas is coming. And coming way faster than I'm ready for. The tree is up and decorated though (that was Saturday), the house is done (Sunday), the outside was done last Monday when it was 55 degrees. Of course all the boxes are still in the bedroom, going to put them away tomorrow and perhaps get the rest of the house more in order (Mr. KA and I are off tomorrow). The gingerbread house is done, LM#2 has been bugging me all week to do it and he was so excited when I said it would be today. It's cute, very overloaded with candy, but they did it all.

We are also doing the Elf so finding new places to put him is already hard. Last year I did a set up where the Elf was held captive by the bad guy figures we have, but then LM#1 called me on it, said I set it up. :( So that's too much. The Elf needs to just sit or something only a little 'staged'.

I have shopping to do, Christmas cards to design, pictures to download. :P I love Christmas but sometimes it just overwhelms me.

The outside of the house is decorated (did that last Monday was it was 65 degrees out, just didn't turn them on until today). The tree is up and decorated. Tomorrow I plan to finish the inside of the house and then I'm done. I will move on to creating the Christmas card and downloading the pictures from my camera. Not sure when cooking will be happening. Really wish I didn't have to cook. Blah.

Hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving if you celebrated. :)

I've had the last two days off from work, although spent two hours working yesterday. I had a massage and a haircut and caught up on some TV. Today I have run some errands and trying to get caught up with more TV. Need to pack as I'm heading down to Maryland to see azhreia to watch Teen Wolf and Cap2 and chat, lots of chatting. Going to be a fun time. :-)

I'm also watching Homeland. And to be honest, I'm just not into it like I was in seasons 1 and 2. Didn't like season 3 and I'm watching season 4 for Mr. KA. I can't seem to push past the character of Carrie. She is the lead and the idea that she an be in the employment of the CIA after all her mental problems is baffling. Season 4 spoiler )

Finally feeling a little better, the congestion is still really bad, I sometimes can't hear well out of my right ear, but I finally feel better. I don't think I'll be a hundred percent for another handful of days.

For work )

I've been sick now for 8 days. The first 4 were the most awful things, I had a spiking fever, aches throughout my shoulders, back and hips. The congestion started on day 3 and got worse to the point I could not breath, hence not being able to sleep either. Went to the doctor on Day 4 and she diagnosed me with sinusitis, which I've had many times, and it never felt like that. I didn't go to work for 4 days. The weekend wasn't much better, while the aches and pains decreased the congestion got worse causing headaches and pain through the left side of my face.

*sigh* I went to work on Monday, I needed to be home again but that was 4 days in a row, I have never ever done that before. So in the ten years I've been with the company they realized I was very sick, which was nice, I didn't have a fear that they didn't believe me. The head is still so congested my ears pop, need to use Afrin at night to breath, even Nyquil to get to sleep. Ugh. This just so sucks.

Good thing about today is that we started watching The Avengers with the kids today. I found myself shushing LM#2, but he had questions or just comments. :)

And the Avenger: Age of Ultron exclusive clip?? Awesome, so perfect. There was humor, there was bonding, there was Natasha being awesome, and Steve shifting Thor's hammer ever so slightly. *gg* Of course the happy was short lived as we saw the real clip, with the freaky Pinocchio song and James Spader's voice as Ultron. I also saw a clip today of Steve and Tony, chopping wood of all things, having a discussion/sorta argument. But... chopping wood. This movie is going to be all over the place and I trust in Joss Whedon so I'm going to have faith that it will be good.

Of the bad, I'm sick. Stayed home from work today due to congestion and exhaustion and just horrible aches and pains. Got better through the day but then I made dinner, had baths/showers to give, lunches to make, then I felt like crap again. May stay home tomorrow too, I have tons of sick time but I will have to work a little. Maybe tomorrow I'll make myself watch some shows I'm behind on.

Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer was released today. OMG. James Spader is very freaky as Ultron. There is so much going on in the trailer, so many feels, so much pain. So much. I trust in Joss, but he likes pain mixed with action and humor and while Avengers1 didn't have a ton of pain, Cap2 did and I fear that Avengers2 will be like that. Painful emotionally. Yesterday was the family party and it went well, there were about 13 people here and then only 11 for dinner, that included children. It was really small since the rest of my family had other obligations etc. Every year when I do this I always tell myself I won't be controlling, that I won't freak out, that I will handle things smoothly.

That's of course, not what happened. I can see myself overreacting to all the questions that I'm asked or trying to keep things moving, and then it doesn't help that i have my family (mainly my parents and brother) telling me to relax, and it doesn't have to be on plan, or organized. That's not the way I'm made, it's just not. But maybe next year I won't be so ahhhhhh.

Today Mr. KA had a work thing so he was gone all day. I took the kids to Church, then the food store, we came home for lunch and I cooked a chicken breast and made cheeseburger pizza. Then we went to the movies to see Alexander and the horrible, terrible, no good very bad day. (The movie was adorable, sure silly and over the top in places, but I just felt it was cute and it made me laugh in several places... a lot. The kids seemed to enjoy the really silly stuff. And it just reminds me how adorable Jennifer Garner is).

After we go home I cleaned up the dinners and then we started peeling apples for apple sauce. The kids would turn the handle to peel it, I would cut up and stick on the crock pot. The kids did play a few extra moments of electronics today, but I got so much stuff done. I gave them showers, made them grilled cheese for dinner, and then they watched a movie LM#1 got for his birthday (they had seen it already). I folded 4 loads of laundry and the towels are in the dryer. Oh and I made lunches for Mr KA and LM#1 for tomorrow.

Whew. Busy busy day. Mr. KA finally got home after 8:30. Long day for both of us.
