You already had me
Kids
They had a great time with their grandparents. LM#2 slept through the night for them and everyone was happy. Last night LM#2 stayed in bed, but woke at 12:30 and 4:15 :( So an awesome start to my week. You know, you kind of assume as a parent you'd be getting full nights rest when the youngest is almost 4. Seriously. That isn't too much to expect. Alas, not in the cards for me.
Movies
DJango Unchained - this was just too long. And I feel that the storytelling was secondary to the imagrey that Tarantino created. There was some fantastic shots. Christoper Waltz was amazing, really enjoyed his performance. I thought the blood and gore, in places (like the shoot out at the house) was ridiculous (and totally unplausible) and it took away from the story for me. So I didn't love it. Makes me want to rewatch Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs just to see how violent and over the top they were. I remember violence, but not like the above movie.
TV
Kind of forced these two into the weekend. Now I have all of season three on TiVo and no longer need Netflix.
Teen Wolf: S2, E11: Battlefield This was very tense. My frustation with Derek is high. If he just talked and explained things instead of keeping everything to himself. Sure he was betrayed by Kate and that hurt, and he's been alone since, but he has to open himself up at some point. It cost him Boyd and Erica. I give Issac some points for staying though.
Allison, wow, talk about no mercy. When your father, the guy that started the series being anti all werewolves, is breaking your bow? You have a problem. That was awful, kept flinging arrows at Boyd. Ugh man. And the balls on Gerard to have them tied up in his basement, he had to of known that Chris was not going to approve.
And go Stiles for scoring some goals. His Dad is adorable, very much so when it comes to his son. I also liked that Scott's mom came around, that she finally bought a clue and realized that not everything was as it seemed.
I'm sure I had more thoughts at the time but I watched this yesterday and the finale this morning so that is overshadowing everything.
Teen Wolf: S2, E12: Master Plan So, I didn't see that coming. Had no idea that Gerard wanted to become a werewolf. It doesn't really mesh with the rest of the season, especially when he had no mercy where his daughter-in-law was concerned. I knew he was sick, that was obvious, but... really? A werewolf?
And Scott figured that out? Again, I wasn't surprised he did something to the pills, I figured as much at the police station but I didn't know what. But the whole thing was very smart of Scott. Seeking guidance from Deaton (who is still somewhat a mystery, especially with the Guidance counselor glad he's out of retirment). Scott shared his plan with no one, which I thought was... implausible. I don't get why he didn't tell Derek, they wanted the same thing: stop Gerard.
Oh and was it this episode where Derek and Peter researched the Kanima to figure out what was happening with Jackson? Because that exchange behind the laptop? Flipping hysertical. :)
And Jackson. So he went from being dead, to a Kanima again, to a werewolf (nice continuity with the blue eyes). I don't get that transformation, perhaps the bond to a master was severed with Gerard's unsuccessful transformation? But it was nice to see Lydia and she helped save him. Now everyone but the Sherrif knows, which is good.
Stiles. There was a glimpse into his head in these episodes (not sure what the point was with kidnapping Stiles, as bait for Scott? Derek?) But he wants to help, wants to do some good but he does'nt have much faith in himself, which is sad. Hopefully he finds it.
Scott and Allison, yeah, Allison needs to get a grip on her anger, maybe make an apology to Boyd and Erica. And did Scott tell Allison how the attack on her mom really happened? Not sure how he could bring that up smoothly, but she needs to know or she will continue to be hateful toward Derek and considering I don't see anyone moving, they need to get along.
And a pack of Alphas? How the hell does that even happen? And the final scene of Scott and Stile practicing? Awesome. Looking forward to season three.
Watched the VMAs last night. Ugh. What the hell happened to the show? Or am I just old now? I thought half the performers were crap, that there were few "performances" and a bunch of... acts? And not good ones. I don't know, maybe it was the location, maybe it was the way it was produced, but I felt it wasn't put together well. The best part was Justin Timberlake and then NSYNC, that was very smile worthy, kind of wish the group part was longer.
They talked about these videos, that aren't played on MTV anymore, you have to go and find them on Youtube or at the artist's site I suppose. It's just different now. But woohoo for a tiny NSYNC reunion. :)
