First new show of the tv season
Kids
Three nights in a row of sleeping Should I whisper so he doesn't hear me? I thought Sat. and Sun. was because we were busy during the day, but he is sleeping very well. I had to sit and wake him both Mon. and Tues. - which for LM#2 is unheard of. I'm optimistic that whatever the hell that was, is over. Going to bed is even better, he still has the door open, but there isn't screaming anymore just a few questions and then he lays down. He doesn't play music which is sad/annoying because I bought him the player. Maybe he will come around to that.
LM#1 is moving along in first grade, he is buying lunch at school today for the first time, so he is excited. My biggest problem with him is his tone of voice and the way he speaks to me. He either doesn't 'get' that it's disrespectful (or not nice) or just doesn't care. I'm hoping it's more the first.
TV
Sleepy Hollow: S1, E1: Pilot The episode was jammed packed, totally set things up of the season. And also seasons to come as painting them a team fighting evil. Etc. I found the directing at some points a little annoying, like they were trying hard to make it different, not necessarily scary but just different to be different. Although I will admit to gasping with the mirror thing. It's decent. The pairing is good, they seem to have a connection, one I want to see more of. And since I was distracted by the height difference, I looked it up, she is 5'1" and he is 6'1". A good first outing but considering the list of shows, it really needs to wow me.
The Newsroom: S2, E9: Election Night Pt2 First, I can't believe it was only 9 episodes. Booooooo. I loved the last three episodes so much. The humor, the personal relationships, election night. I really enjoyed it. And while Maggie is still the biggest sore point of the show, I was able to look around her at all the other goodness.
The ending was very sweet and picture perfect. Evidently they weren't sure if they would be renewed for Season 3 so they tied up all the personal storylines, which I appreciated very much. I loved Sloane and the way she signed the book and then kissed Don, that was my favorite. I was happy to see Maggie and Lisa start to mend their friendship. And while on paper I am happy to see Will find his way back to Mac to forget etc, I have to admit the kissing scene had ... no chemistry in it at all. Perhaps it's me, but I kind of felt, eh, about the whole thing. If they come back next year it will be interesting to see the dynamic of the cast/newsroom and how they do their job.
In Steelers news, soooo glad I went to bed. Mr. KA stayed up, ugh man, 0-2, not a good start and I dare say it's not looking great. I have faith they will turn it around, but ouch.
In work news, we have posted the supervisor position, so that is good because I need that staff member badly. *sigh*
Also, arriving at work at 9am... really not working for me. It keeps me off center for most of the morning. I suppose I'll get used to it, but still. Hard to me to enforce the staff to work a full 8 hours when I'm doing 7.5 on average. Again, I'm sure I can figure out a balance as there isn't much other choice unless I sign LM#1 up for before care as well (which seems like over kill for 45 minutes to an hour).
