What I should be doing

Is watching Teen Wolf. Mr. KA is out playing softball and I have the chance to watch it live, but... I'm just so tired and just not interested. He plays again tomorrow night so I'll do it then.
Tonight I did my nails, a light blue on the bottom with black tips. Sadly the black streaked at the bottom of the blue because I didn't know what I was doing. So not as nice as I was hoping but perhaps I'll think they are ok tomorrow morning.
Also spent some time on Shutterfly putting photos onto pages so I could make a photo book for by the 31st in order to get it free, Mr. KA gave me a coupon. Yes he gave it to me a month ago but I didn't feel like it. So I'm trying to get it done now. I think that might be why I'm so drained.
I had some nice thoughts about last week's Teen Wolf ep (IED) but never wrote it up, then, because of Tumblr, I've been reading a lot of the TW fandom, their opinions, their Sterek campaigns and people who still watch the show but carry such hatred for Jeff Davis and bitterness for the lack of quality that I find it... odd that they even bother.
I am not a veteran of fandom, nor so I feel I'm an expert, however I do feel that the young fans of Teen Wolf are under the impression that TPTB owe them something. That because fandom (christ MTV just had the fandom awards *shudder*) is getting more public recognition they should be able to influence a show's path.
Please hold on while I stop laughing.
Seriously, if fans were able to affect a show I know a handful that would have gone differently. Very differently (Burn Notice, The X-Files, White Collar, SPN, the list can go on depending on your show because I have met very few fans that have been 100% in love with the source material. We always think something can be better *g*).
Let's take the idea that TPTB owe them something. And it's mainly the Sterek group (who, if I read things right, won a fandom award for best campaign...? WTF, ugh).
I saw this as a fan of that pairing, as a person that saw/sees the chemistry the characters had from the start, the way it changed and grew and how I could see it growing more into a place of mutual respect and trust. I'm a fan of that, I want that. Am I pissed that Stiles and Derek had 2 scenes all of Season 3B? Yes. Do I think that Jeff Davis did it on purpose because the Sterek Group is so loud and vocal? No. I find it hard to believe that he would be so ridiculously petty. (Always room for error there as I don't know the man personally, but it seems so childish.)
Jeff Davis is running the show, he has the power and more likely than not his "vision" is not matching up to a specific group and he never really saw them together in the first place. That is what fan fiction is for, give the writers and viewers a good base of material, some tension, and let it go. All will be well.
But it seems that a large portion of the TW fandom feel that Jeff Davis owes them Stiles and Derek shagging, that with all the chemistry and dialog that is where Jeff Davis was going all along. And since he now isn't following through (on something they, the viewer picked up on) they are pissed off. Seriously?
Um... if you see UST between two characters then so be it, that's the point of fandom. Put your tin hat on, drink in as much fic as you can and enjoy the show for what it is. I ultimately feel that a group like the Sterek Campaign is going to ruin things if they don't quiet down.
I'm not saying not to express opinions, but do so in a thoughtful and professional way. I watch Hawaii 5-0 and in Season 3 they changed things around, I hated it. I could barely get through the episodes, so I drafted a letter. I had a friend proofread it, I made some changes and submitted it to whatever email address I could find. Do I think my one letter made a difference? Probably not but I felt better about sharing my opinion but I did it constructively and in a way I thought perhaps they could start seeing my point of view. (And I'm happy to say that the show did revert back to it's regular format, however since things are filmed about 6 eps ahead my letter had nothing to do with it, but everything I listed in the letter are the things that were changed, so obviously others shared my thoughts.)
And then there are those that are so pissed off at Jeff Davis because of his lack of writing skills, continuity, character development etcetcetc. Why are you watching the show? If they dislike it so much, stop watching. Sure it's a little weird to stop watching something you used to love, but sometimes that's the answer. I stopped watching The West Wing once Sam left, I sorta regret it. I stopped with Grey's Anatomy she it started getting ridiculous and they killed George, both his dignity and character. These are just two examples, these were shows I loved. On the other end I stuck with The X-Files til the bitter end because I couldn't let go, but I didn't bitch and moan about it every week that I was watching a piece of crap. I just didn't talk about it, didn't seek it out online, just watched and waited for it to be over.
*sigh* I don't know. I wanted to make a very thought out write up but I've been thinking about it for a week and didn't do a damn thing with my thoughts. And now I think I rambled.
