New TV season and stuff

Here I go again, trying to make sure and update here.
First some quick opinions about some TV shows.
Hawaii 5-0: S5, E1 - A'ohe Kahi e Pe'e Ai The first five minutes of this episode made me laugh so much I had to pause it, it reminded me what i watch it, why I suffer through the rest. *happy sigh* I love me some McDanno.
The rest of the ep, it actually was pretty decent until the dialog ruined it for it. The whole remote drone, killing innocents, pretty intense. But then the dialog, which is now infecting non-procedurals shows, it just so off beating. Kono stating she likes this part and then punches someone, the whole character of Jerry has to go. He's not needed and he's not bringing anything to the table.
They laid the groundwork for some plots, it does seem that Danny and Chin have things to deal with, I just hope that Danny doesn't try and do it alone. And I had always wondered if Danny's brother Matt (the one that he allowed to run away) was ever going to make his presence known.
So I enjoyed the episode for the Steve and Danny stuff, but everything else was eh.
Arrow: S3, E1 - The Calm I'm torn on this ep, I'm so happy it's back yet the writing was ... not great. I feel the whole private life/crusade was heavy-handed and slightly ridiculous/unnecessary. I just don't understand why it's needed. I get that Oliver's life is dangerous and unstable, but to cut himself off from all personal relationships? To cut Diggle out?
I think the writing was frustrating surrounding Oliver's personal life, and perhaps that's because I can't see it. And the final scene between Oliver and Felicity was painful, but I support Felicity and her strength because while it's great to hear that Oliver loves her listening to what else he said, to see him struggle, she needs to walk away.
I also thought the Captain was silly, he knew he was sick, why push himself that quickly, just get better and then start back out in the field. I just felt it was ... unrealistic for a grown man to have that thought process, focusing only on being a cop, he is Captain he can still make a difference without being on the field. (and maybe my next write up I won't hit the "enter" button again)
The ending was a twist regarding Sara, but you can't have two Black Canaries, right?
I did enjoy Brandon Routh's character, he was adorably bubbly.
Supernatural: S10, E1 - Black So. That was interesting. The most interesting thing was Crowley and Dean talking about killing and that as long as Dean continues to consistently kill, the "Mark" will be kept at bay, that he won't be a demon. Which... is interesting. I also appreciated the whole "the only demon inside Dean, is Dean" - and yes we already know that Dean's opinion of himself suck.
I think my favorite was the gas station clerk talking to Sam about "did I stop and get a field interview? No." LOL, totally loved that.
I found the Castiel storyline kind of boring. Sadly I just don't care, I wish I did, but the whole fireside confrontation could have been avoidable. Hannah had to see that Daniel was docile, that he just wanted to stay, I can't understand why she couldn't see a way around it, but she grabbed the blade at the first sign of the woman. She had no intention on listening to anyone.
On a shallow note, I love Jensen's longer hair, it's awesome. I also enjoyed how happy Dean seemed, that was nice, even though it could be fake/masking whatever turmoil is going on inside of Dean.
Overall it was a decent start, I just hope that they get the heaven/angel storyline underway or concluded or something.
The Flash: S1, E1 - City of Heroes This was a decent pilot, I was disappointed that they chose to ignore the "backdoor pilot" that happened on Arrow last season. So they also ignored the whole Felicity thing. Which is a shame because it was adorable.
The biggest problem with the story lines in this episode was the one where Barry seemed to be in love with Iris, the girl he grew up with, in the same house, who is basically his sister. It just wasn't necessary to add that kind of tension to the show. They could have just been friends/family and it would have been great.
I do appreciate that the writers decided to bring so many characters into the "know" in the first episode. Love that there isn't going to be huge amount of people being knocked unconscious missing all the action. :)
Agents of Shield: S2, E3 - Making Friends and Influencing People There's a lot that I liked about this episode. My favorite line was "happy I'm not Fitz?" Which annoys me since it was said by Skye, my least favorite character.
Fitz breaks my heart and when he confronted Ward, omg the pain. But I love the new guy, Mack because he "gets" Fitz and is trying to help him communicate and I love him for it. Plus he's attractive, and when we first are introduced you think he's just a big muscle guy, but he's smart. And he likes Fitz.
I never really believed that Simmons was Hydra, however I agree with Skye, Simmons is a horrible liar. haahaaa. I like this branch of Hydra, it's an interesting plot point. I also an enjoying the new characters but I do with there was more time with May.
I have tried the comedies of blackish, Selfie and A to Z and each have something different but the funniest one was Selfie - sure it was ridiculous but the actors embraced it and it was fantastic. I'm interested to see how it goes forward. blackish thought the second one was better than the first so I'll tune back in. A to Z was eh, it has to wow me with the second episode otherwise I'm done.
I am still watching NCIS however I may stop and leave poor Mr KA to watch on his own. I just, the dialog is so bad, and the plots are ridiculous and... I just don't think I want to spend 45 minutes of my evening like that anymore. I'll see after this episode. I will miss the characters, but now the world they live in (I think the last straw is the plot device they used in the second episode involving Dir. Vance. I couldn't stand it, it was so manipulative, grrrr.
work stuff Work is fine, although with the pending merger things are just tense. And my team, a handful of them, have decided to make their own hours. Coming in later, leaving earlier, assuming they have work at home days and when they don't they question it. Had to mention in a staff meeting today, remind them that working at home is a privilege, not a right. That they need to work 8 hours a day (not 7.4, or 7.8, or 7.2), that if they need to change something they needed to ask, not assume it was ok. Which they keep doing. It's like they are teenagers and it's their first job for gods sake. And I'm sure I was bad mouthed etc but I'm so sick of it. I want to take work at home days away from everyone but that is punishing all, for the sins of a few. I don't know if it's the merger, or what but I just have no patience for this anymore.
I don't know if I mentioned it here, but I have one problem employee. I went to HR, started the process, had a meeting with her and HR. Have so much back up documentation, that should be plenty to let her go but my company, according to the HR person, does everything to avoid lawsuits and HR feels that because I have a past friendship with the employee that everything I documented doesn't count. Only the newer stuff from the supervisor. And now it's been so long that I'm stuck, I can't let her go without another absence infraction. Which if I was the employee, wouldn't happen. *sigh* I'm just so disgusted by the whole thing.
We were supposed to go apple picking tomorrow after LM#1 was finished school but sadly it's going to rain. So that needs to be delayed. I have off tomorrow, which is awesome, and I will be painting vertical stripes into my son's room. LM#2 has been wanting his room repainted so I allowed him to pick the colors (a bright blue, a red delicious red and a dark dark purple) The bright blue stripes will be on the red wall, sadly I wanted the purple on the red, though it would be subtle/cool look. After the painting is done I will order his new furniture, hopefully the one I picked out will fit in his room. There won't be a ton of floor space, however the furniture is being purchased with the thought of him taking it with him when he leaves. LM#1 has a queen bed, but LM#2's room is too small for that so he is getting a double.
One thing I am doing for myself tomorrow is getting a pedicure. I need one. Badly. It will be the last one for while as it's now winter and I won't be in sandals.
