So there may be some snow...

*sigh* We are getting more snow. Mother Nature may read my icon. We have shoveled twice for a total of 11 inches so far and the last time I looked it was still snowing outside. The schools were closed today, and they are already closed tomorrow.

I went into work today because I had two new people starting. I sent everything home about 11:45, it wasn't early enough evidently. Took me 2 hours, another person 3, another person 4. Are you kidding me. That being said I already told my team that they need to work from home tomorrow. The question is if the hubby's office will close (it's already opening at 10:30) or mine will be late (highly unlikely).

If the snow wasn't bad enough the high temp tomorrow is 17, with a windchill of 0. Awesome-sauce.

Watched Sherlock: The Empty Hearse. Way more amusing than I thought it would be. I did think Sherlock went a little overboard in one scene, being too … mean? insensitive? I don't know. However he showed so much growth regarding Molly, that was such a big step for him to just be quiet.

We have decided to stop watching the Michael J Fox show, I enjoy it, think it's cute, think MJFox has a strength that something else. We just have too much to watch that we are letting this one go.

We got about 12 inches. I only shoveled once, watched the wind blow it all back onto the sidewalk, and gave up. I'll have to do it today.

Ouch about having to go into the office, that must have sucked.

We ended up with a bit over 13 inches. My office building is closed but we have been told to work at home. The kids are off so juggle that with the working should be interesting as my hubby is going into the office later this morning.

And yeah, the drive yesterday sucked. This is the second time I ended up stuck out during a bad snow storm and what is annoying is that I keep listening to the weather forecasters. The heavy stuff was't supposed to start until 12, but it started hours earlier so by the time I leave at 12 there was already 1.5 inches on the car and ground. Boo.

This probably isn't a lot of comfort to you, but our forecast high of 85 yesterday didn't happen (which I was super grateful about since it sucks teaching in either un-airconditioned classrooms or poorly ACed ones). Our high was only 68. I was dressed for 85, though, so that part sucked. Also, apparently the campus is as confused by the unseasonal weather as I am because the heat was running pretty solidly in several buildings, making the outfit I had on work inside the classrooms, at least. Driving home after dark was not comfy, though.

And, this is all going to bite us in the ass come summer. So far, we've had under 1/3 of an inch of rainfall this month. Since we get most of our rain in the winter (almost all of our rain, in fact), if we don't start getting some rain, in addition to more terrible wildfires, we'll have major water issues this summer. We're in not just a drought, but a really massive drought.

Worse, our unseasonably hot and dry weather and your "We're living in Hoth now weather" are caused by the same issues, so I really wish all of it would stop, right now.

I love it, that is exactly where we are living. Hoth. Seriously. For the next 5 days we will get above freezing once, and barely that. The 13 inches we ended up getting will go nowhere. There is another "snow squall" coming for Saturday morning and right now the forecasters are stating an inch (inch to three - tops) They are covering themselves. So I won't be going anywhere Sat. morning until after it stops spewing white stuff from the sky. (They are saying it will be blinding so really, just staying in until it's done).

And to add to that, evidently there is another one coming Sunday into Monday. And through it all the high temps for the day are about 25 collectively. I don't get it.

I did hear about your lack of rain, that really stinks. I really hope you get dumped on soon, lots of water. I suppose we need to start to get used to crazy extremes like this in the weather. :(
