Hawaii 5-0: Popilikia Other than the first episode, I'm torn on the season so far. What I liked about the episode was Danny and Steve, Katherine and even the storyline. I had no idea it was the son, which was the point. But there was a few twists in the course of the episode and while I knew the wife was having an affair, the son did not become apparent.

Katherine is awesome. She knows Steve, is happy with what he is able to give her right now, and just seems content with her life. Plus she is kick ass and pretty.

Danny and Steve, I really appreciate that Steve is being honest with Danny. The ending conversation was great, Danny knew something was wrong and Steve opened up. So far he's been doing that this season and I like it. I also enjoyed the whole shot thing, it was ridiculous for Steve to do it himself. But Danny never looked away even though he protested. (Hey! I like my glasses, they are tined lovely)

What I didn't like, sadly, is very strong and it centers around Doris. I like Christine Lahti, she is fine (normally), but here? I find her grating. Her making breakfast and moving in???? Moving in??? Ugh. Just. No. And then she said, on several occasions, that "she knows Steve". Seriously? I call bullshit. She hasn't seen him in 20 years for god's sake, it's ridiculous and for her to come across as so entitled to be in his life.... I just find it irritating and it's effecting the way I enjoy the rest of the episode. I kind of want her to go away, which I know is not possible right now.

Last Resort has been pretty good. I like that it's not just about the submarine crew, but the island and the mainland in DC. Last Resort: Eight Bells Not sure what Serrat was thinking when he killed the crew member, kind of signed his own death warrent. I suppose he needed to do something because the deadline was past and he could not seem weak. I was surprised one of the crew is dead and did not see the one guy offer up his friend/crew mate. I was flabbergasted.

The plot regarding Kylie Sinclair is interesting, especially since now it seems her father is involved. Perhaps he was just protecting her, but when he first appeared I thought he was a bad guy. It's a confusing story where the lines are blurred which I enjoy.

Honor Thy Father This was good. Obviously the mother is into something bad. The question there is timeline. Did the Dad get into bed with this people (with the logo) or did the Mom after the Dad was gone? Perhaps the Dad started the conversation, saw what it was possibly doing and tried to back out and the Mom ... disagreed. *g*

I think my favorite part was then Arrow trew the arrow at the Detective and it contained the recording. You know the Detective wanted to be just pissed off but had to admit that they could put away the bad guy, the dude that went after the daughter (throught he Triad). Of course he is going to hunt Oliver down :)

What I didn't like was the decision Oliver made about being who they expected him to be, or whatever he was spouting to himself. I agree that he is not his father, he is not meant for business, but there was no need to be so disrespectful at the dedication. I feel like he's reaching for this bad boy/party persona that no longer exists and when he does that it just comes across as so fake. He won't be able to keep it up long, not with Laurel and Merlyn hanging around, while they seemed disappointed I'm not sure either of them "bought" the entire performance.

Today is the big birthday party. The cupcakes are made and cooling and I'm about to start the icing.
