TV
Continuum: Matter of Time Yeeeah, I’m not sure how long I’m going to last with this show, it was an ok episode but I found myself… bored. As mentioned I’m not a huge time travel fan and this is pushing all of those buttons. The best part of the show for me is Adler, I like the character as this techi kid with big and great ideas while having this woman from the future knowing how it all turns out. He’s trying to figure out where he fits into everything, that is a huge amount of pressure. I find the idea intriguing. But it needs to be a little bit more well rounded for me.
Spartacus: Wolves at the Gate The amount of death is staggering if you think about it. So Spartacus and gang took a city and killed ever Roman they came across whether man, woman, child. Not off of these Romans treated their slaves like crap, the children especially as they don’t know any better yet. It was disturbing. Of course once they were in charge of the city, Spartacus ordered everyone no more killing, which, yeah, but geezus, I think they could have used a bit more guidance before storming the place.
The introduction of Caesar is interesting mainly because I never envisioned him spry, just older and perhaps a little portly, but this Caesar is young and healthy and ready to do battle. He now how the distinct honor of having one of the strangest sex? scenes so far. At first I thought the woman on her knees was circumcising him, but ... I’m not so sure, all I know is he asked her to do it, there as blood and... well, yea, have no idea. The show will end bloody, it’s a bloody story and I’m interested to see where it goes, but the fighting and blood and gore continue to be over the top for me, but I suppose that’s what a lot of people tune in to see.
NCIS: Canary Eh. Did anything really think they were taking the man to Cuba? I thought Tony did well in acting scared, Ziva sounded rehearsed over the walkie talkie, which is good because the character of Ziva is not an actor, and it would make sense that Tony would fall into easier considering his love of movies. But I just thought the whole thing was ... I don’t know, a waste of time? There was nothing new except for the quasi director, who is growing on me, but in reality there is no way he’d make it that far without a little more backbone. I enjoy the show but I’m wondering if ten seasons is just too much for me *g*
Lost Girl: Fae-de to Black I thought this was poorly written, all characters were extremes and it sat badly with me. I think Lauren, as a doctor to the fae, should have come to the conclusion that Bo needed "more" way before now. Perhaps she was blinded by lust but I did expect her to think more clearly when it came to Bo’s health. That being said, she handled the revelation of Bo screwing Dyson to get better rather well, can’t blame her for the rule of "no Dyson", I would make that rule. So while she annoyed me at the beginning, I respect her for seeing that Bo "needed" the screw with Dyson and is not dumping her.
I think the biggest problem with the episode is Kenzi, and I love her. But she was just a little too wild and all over the place, no wonder people were pushing her aside thinking her motor mouth was going on about something not important. She needed to approach Trick, Bo, the Ash in a serious way and they would have listened, but pushing her way in with no regard of people’s jobs etc, was rude and ridiculous. I do think she should have said something way before now about that rash, but alas, it is TV.
Dyson’s new partner, I kind of love to be annoyed by her *g* She’s got nice chemistry with Dyson, not that I was them sleeping together, but it’s a nice rapport. Just hope she will tone down the attitude a little, it’s a bit over the top. This is the first ep in a while that I did not actually overall enjoy.
Suits: Zane vs Zane I admit to knowing very little about the law, but it seems that these people just mix things up because they can. I thought the war between Louis and Katrina, while amusing, just not sure how lenient a judge or the court would see their antics. Loved the arrest picture all over Louis’s office and perhaps this is a return to the more friendly way between Louis and Harvey. It would be nice to have them getting along better, them at odds constantly is tiresome.
We learn more about Rachel, which is nice, but I have to admit that I don’t care too much about her Dad and her issue with her Dad. But Mike was sweet giving her a frame containing her test scores, a bit corny, but something Mike would do. I also think Rachel carrying her anger at Mike sleeping with the married lady is a bit too much. But it looks like this could be the beginning of her moving past it, which is good. What I didn’t like is that we are back to battling Hardman, kind of thought we got rid of him? :)
I’m working from home today, so I’m trying to do personal things in between. I have ... lots of TV to watch: last week’s Merlin, two weeks of Last Man Standing, Monday Mornings, Hawaii 5-0 and I recorded Smash... but I don’t think I’ll watch it. I think I need to walk away from it.
We leave for Disney in five days and I’m starting to freak out about the packing but since we leave on a Monday, I have the weekend, which is nice. Sadly I’m battling some sort of congestion/cold that will not go away and now the hubby has a sore throat. Here’s hoping the kids stay healthy.
